1530 SAT (UChicago) — Targeted Math and English Prep That Actually Raises Scores

About Alexander
I'm Alex, a third-year student at the University of Chicago double-majoring in Economics and Philosophy. I scored a 1530 on the SAT and have spent the past two years at one of the most academically demanding universities in the country, where thinking precisely and solving hard problems isn't optional; it's just how things work here.
I started tutoring because I genuinely enjoy breaking down how the SAT is constructed and watching students go from feeling stuck to feeling in control of the material. There's a clear logic to how this test works, and once students see it, their scores reflect that.
I work with a small number of students at a time, so every session is focused and personalized. If you're serious about improving your score and want someone who will be straight with you about what's working and what isn't, I'd be glad to work together.

SAT Tutor | 1530 Score | University of Chicago
I scored a 1530 on the SAT and study Economics and Philosophy at UChicago, where rigorous quantitative and analytical thinking is just part of the curriculum. I've worked with students in both structured and one-on-one settings — and what I've noticed is that most students don't plateau because they lack effort. They plateau because they keep practicing the same mistakes without ever diagnosing why they're making them.
That's what I focus on fixing.
My approach
Coming from a background in economic modeling and data analysis, I think about SAT prep the way I think about any problem: find the pattern, build a repeatable framework, eliminate the noise. I don't teach content for its own sake — I teach you how the test is designed, where it tries to trick you, and how to recognize what's actually being asked before you even look at the answers.
What a session looks like
We start by reviewing your recent mistakes — not to redo them, but to find the pattern behind them
We drill 1–2 targeted areas, not whatever's next in a generic prep book
I walk through hard questions live so you see exactly how I'm thinking
We adjust your timing and decision-making strategy based on where you're losing points
What sets me apart
I took this test recently. I know how it actually works — not from a prep company manual, but from sitting in the room. And because of my background in quantitative coursework and research, I'm particularly strong on the math side: breaking down problems into clean, logical steps rather than relying on memorization or tricks that don't generalize.
Best fit for:
Students targeting 1400–1550+ who are already putting in the work but not seeing the results — and want someone who will tell them exactly what's holding them back.
