About Isabella

Hi! I'm a first-year BS/MD student at NJIT in an accelerated medical program with Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, and I'm excited to help students prepare for the SAT!

I earned a 1560 on the SAT, with a 790 in Math and a 770 in Reading and Writing. I also have four years of volunteer tutoring experience, which has taught me the importance of patience, clear communication, and adapting my approach to each student's needs.

My goal is to make the SAT feel more manageable by breaking down difficult concepts, explaining strategies clearly, and helping students understand how to approach unfamiliar questions. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, learning from their mistakes, and building on what they already know.

I believe that effective tutoring is about more than getting the right answer. It's about helping students understand the material, recognize their own strengths, and develop the confidence to work through challenging problems independently.

Whether you're hoping to improve your score, strengthen a particular section, or feel more prepared for your next test date, I'm happy to work with you! I'll do my best to make our lessons supportive, productive, and tailored to your goals.

About the lesson

My goal is to help students feel confident and prepared for the SAT by making the material easier to understand and teaching strategies they can apply independently on test day.

Every student approaches the SAT differently, so I tailor my lessons to their individual strengths, weaknesses, and goals. We can focus on Math, Reading, and Writing (if applicable), or both sections, depending on where you need the most support. Whether you're aiming for a higher score or preparing to take the SAT for the first time, I'll work with you to develop a plan that fits your needs.

A typical lesson begins with identifying challenging topics/assigned homework and reviewing any questions or concepts that have been giving you trouble. From there, we'll work through practice questions together, break down the reasoning behind each answer, and explore strategies for approaching different question types. I also emphasize understanding why an answer is correct rather than simply memorizing tricks or formulas. As we progress, we'll focus on recognizing common question patterns, avoiding frequent mistakes, and managing time effectively.

I want my lessons to feel collaborative and encouraging, so you'll always have the opportunity to ask questions and work through problems at your own pace. My goal isn't just to help you improve your SAT score, but also to give you the skills and confidence to approach test day feeling prepared!
