About Leena
I tailor my teaching to each student’s unique needs, understanding that everyone learns differently and at their own pace. My goal is simple: to ensure students truly understand the material and can apply it confidently, no matter how the test questions are framed.
What sets me apart as a tutor? I bring a student’s perspective. I know what works, what doesn’t, and how to make complicated topics click. I'm here for students in grades 6–11 who want to ace their tests and gain a deeper understanding of the world through the lens of science and math. Some of my favorite subjects to learn and teach are chemistry (both organic and inorganic), math, and biology.

As a former high school student, I completely get how dull and overwhelming science and math classes can sometimes feel. You sit through lessons, take notes, and still walk out of class thinking, Wait, what just happened? I’ve been there too! That’s why I design my lessons to make sure my students don’t just memorize the material. They understand it deeply and know how to use it, no matter how tricky the test questions get.
My approach is all about making learning relatable, engaging, and fun. My classes are interactive and focus on why we’re learning something, not just what. For instance, when we tackle trigonometry, we don’t stop at memorizing sin, cos, and tan. I show how they’re used in real life, from designing bridges to figuring out your next hiking route. And let’s talk biology: we all know the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell, but I break down what that actually means and why it’s vital, not just for biology tests but for understanding the chemistry of how life works.
A typical lesson with me starts with a quick recap of what you know and what’s confusing. Then, we dive into the concepts with explanations, real-life applications, and visuals. By the end of the class, you’ll not only know the material but also see how it fits into the bigger picture.
