My approach as a tutor is structured, supportive, and focused on building real understanding—not just quick answers. In math, I break down concepts step-by-step and teach students how to recognize patterns, solve problems confidently, and explain their thinking. In ELA, I help students strengthen reading comprehension, writing organization, grammar, and critical thinking by teaching clear strategies they can apply across assignments and exams. I adjust my teaching style based on each student’s pace and learning needs, and I always prioritize confidence-building alongside academic growth.
A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material, followed by focused instruction on a specific skill (such as fractions, algebra, essay structure, or text evidence). We then practice together through guided examples, and I gradually shift responsibility to the student as they improve. I end each session with a recap of key takeaways and a clear plan for what to practice before the next meeting. What sets me apart is my patience, strong communication skills, and ability to make difficult material feel manageable and less overwhelming. My lessons are best for middle school and high school students who need support in math fundamentals, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, reading comprehension, writing essays, grammar, and test preparation.
