About Philippa
About Me I’m a published writer, actor and producer based in Birmingham, with years of tutoring and coaching experience. I work professionally across theatre, television and commercial acting, and I coach actors at all stages — from first-time auditionees to drama school applicants and working performers. My screen work includes numerous national and international commercials for brands such as Skoda, eBay, Just Eat, Ocean Spray and Aldi, including large-scale Christmas campaigns abroad. My theatre work includes plays in London and New York, and most recently I toured the UK in the multi-award-winning, sell-out show Character Flaw. I trained at Royal Central School of Speech & Drama and The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, New York, giving me a broad, practical understanding of both UK and US training and industry expectations.

I'll make sure monologues are contrasting not just in style but in how YOU embody them. - Recall preparation - Audition questions answered clearly and practically Live coaching for first-round self-taped auditions - Support for international applicants navigating the UK/US audition process 2. Self-Tape Coaching - Script analysis and character choices - Framing, lighting and technical advice - Performance notes that translate on camera - Direction during live taping sessions - Confidence-building and repeatable techniques you can use independently 3. Career Coaching Whether you’re finishing training, self-taught, or returning to acting after time away, I can help you make sense of the next steps: - Spotlight and CV tailoring - Headshot advice - Audition technique fundamentals - Self-promotion advice - Understanding agents: who to approach and how - Honest discussion about the industry and sustainable progress My Approach I believe acting is a muscle and marathon. Everyone’s path is different, and there is no single “correct” route into the industry. My aim is to help you develop strong technique, confidence, and clarity, so you walk into auditions prepared, grounded, and trusting your work. It is never too late to start!
