About Zikang
Hello! It is a pleasure to meet you. I graduated from Appalachian State University. During high school, I gained experience working as a math tutor, and during my university years, I completed a semester of field experience at a local public high school. I majored in General Mathematics (with a concentration in Education) and completed specialized coursework focused on mathematics education and pedagogy. I hope that I can be of assistance as you learn mathematics.

As a tutor, I prefer to adopt a meticulous approach to instruction. I strive to ensure that my students gain a solid understanding of the underlying principles behind mathematical concepts, rather than merely rote-memorizing formulas. For instance, rather than having my students blindly memorize the perfect square formula and the quadratic formula, I prefer to explain the principles of polynomial multiplication and the method of completing the square; this enables them to grasp the origins of these formulas—and even derive them on their own.
