Is your child struggling with Physics, losing confidence, or working hard without getting the grades they deserve? I can help.
I am an experienced Physics teacher and tutor with nearly 10 years of teaching and tutoring experience, and I also work as an AQA Physics Examiner. This gives me a detailed understanding of both the Physics students need to know and how their knowledge and understanding are assessed in examinations.
My approach is simple: make difficult Physics understandable, identify exactly where a student is losing marks, and build the knowledge, confidence and exam technique needed to improve.
I have worked with students at a wide range of levels. Recent examples include:
GCSE students improving from Grade 6 to Grade 9 and from Grade 7 to Grade 9
An A-level student initially predicted a C who achieved an A
A student who achieved an A* in Physics while taking it as a fourth subject
A student who received an offer from Imperial College London

I am particularly passionate about helping students who want to push beyond their current level. Whether a student needs to rebuild their foundations, improve examination technique, or tackle the most challenging questions, I adapt lessons to their individual needs.
I do not simply tell students how to solve questions. I encourage them to think for themselves, explain their reasoning and learn from mistakes, so that they become increasingly confident and independent.
Parents are kept informed too. I am happy to provide regular feedback on progress, areas requiring attention and preparation between lessons. Where appropriate, I set targeted practice and encourage students to work ahead so that lesson time is used as effectively as possible.

I currently offer lessons Monday to Saturday afternoons and all day Sunday.

My lessons are built around understanding, problem-solving and exam success.
Rather than simply working through a textbook, I identify what a student finds difficult and build their understanding step by step.
Depending on the student's needs, lessons may include:
Clear explanations of difficult concepts
Worked examples and guided problem-solving
Challenging questions that develop deeper understanding
Examination-style questions and mark-scheme technique
Identifying and correcting misconceptions
Developing confidence with unfamiliar problems
Targeted homework and additional practice
Feedback on progress and areas for improvement
Students receive additional practice where appropriate, together with mark schemes, helping them develop the ability to check and improve their own work.
Students are also welcome to contact me when they become stuck on a problem between lessons. If something does not make sense, I would much rather they ask than continue with a misunderstanding.
My aim is not simply to help a student pass their next examination. I want them to understand Physics well enough to approach unfamiliar questions with confidence and increasing independence.
AQA AS Physics as an Additional Subject
I also offer tuition for students who wish to study AQA AS/A-level Physics independently as an additional subject alongside their normal school studies.
I have experience supporting students through this route and can help structure the course so that they progress systematically through the specification while continuing to manage their other subjects.
For a student studying Physics largely independently, I would normally recommend approximately 4 hours of tuition per week, alongside around 3–5 hours of independent study/homework. The amount of examination practice would normally increase as the exams approach.
This is a demanding route, so my focus is not simply on getting the student through the examination. The aim is to develop a genuine understanding of Physics, strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to tackle unfamiliar questions independently.
