About Emily
Graduating with a Bachelor of Music in Popular Music from the University of Southern California gave me formal training, but the real education happened on the road. Most people assume formal degrees make for stiff teachers, yet I prefer the grit of the American South. Gigging as a singer-guitarist for 13 years taught me how to read a room better than any textbook.
Open-mic regulars first pulled me into teaching by asking for my tricks. My focus stays on intermediate learners and self-taught players who need to organize their skills. Helping 366 students find their rhythm remains the highlight of my career. I simply enjoy passing along what I learned during those long acoustic sets.

Grabbing a guitar should feel like coming home rather than doing homework. Getting the basics right is my simple goal for every student. We start with a free trial session to assess where your current playing level sits.
Kids and performance-focused students find that building confidence helps them navigate scales and barre chords easily. My 9 years of experience means I understand the exact frustrations of finding your sound. I try to keep the process straightforward and easy.
