About Amber
"Graduating with a Bachelor of Music in Performance from Belmont University gave me the technical foundation to understand the guitar from the inside out. I remember the first time I realized that music theory was actually just a language for describing the sounds we already know. My career spans 13 years of playing in Americana bands across the country.
I spent those decades learning how to listen to the room and respond to the energy of a live crowd. This background informs my work as a neurodivergent-affirming teacher who values how different brains process acoustic and electric information. I focus on the groove because that is where the soul of the instrument lives.
Structure helps learners who feel overwhelmed by too many choices. I am patient with the process of discovery."

"Sometimes I admit that the most frustrating part of guitar is just getting the thing to stay in tune. I always start our time together with a diagnostic skills check to see exactly where your hands and ears are currently landing.
We examine your fingerpicking patterns and lead guitar phrasing to ensure you are not building bad habits. I work with advanced learners, teens, and self-taught players who want to organize their knowledge of blues progressions. My 8 years of experience means I understand how to break down complex theory into something you can actually hear on the fretboard.
We adjust the pace based on how you learn best. It is a slow, steady build."
