About Elena
Elena was raised in Southern Ontario where she studied theater, voice, and dance starting at just 4 years old. She went on to study vocal music at a regional arts high school. From there she went on to achieve a Diploma in Musical Theatre Performance at St Clair College in Windsor, Ontario followed by a Degree in Performing Arts at Douglas College and Capilano University in British Columbia.
Elena discovered her love for teaching along the way and has been directing and choreographing for various community theater companies and schools across Canada for over a decade.

Elena has worked with students aged 4 through mid 20's providing direction, blocking, scene study, character development and audition preparations across Canada.
We start with the text and identify what we know about the scene or monologue. We discover the needs and wants of the characters and look for the emotional connection. Together we explore the options and possibilities for delivery and movement.
Elena believes in a trial and play based approach. She asks her students to be willing to be silly, play and fail with her, creating a safe space for improvement, development and artistry.

Elena is wonderful! We met when she was assistant directing my high school production of Legally Blonde. Since then she’s become more than a teacher in my life. She’s become a mentor, a friend and someone I know I can always go to. In my last year of high school she did some coaching sessions with me that helped me get into my dream school, Randolph College of the Performing Arts. She is incredibly knowledgeable in all things theatre and dance and if you choose to work with her, you will not be disappointed.
