About Adri

I am a friendly, caring and approachable teacher who truly believes in helping every learner reach their full potential. At the same time, I am firm and strict when it comes to academic work, because I believe that discipline, commitment and hard work are essential for success. I am fair, patient and always willing to go the extra mile to assist learners who are struggling. I take pride in being hardworking, reliable and dedicated, and I encourage my learners to set higher goals for themselves and work towards meaningful achievements. My aim is not only to improve academic results, but also to build confidence, responsibility and a positive attitude towards learning. I believe that with the right guidance, encouragement and effort, every learner can achieve more than they thought possible.

About the lesson

My Approach to Private Tutoring

As a qualified and experienced teacher, I believe every learner is unique and learns in their own way. My tutoring approach is learner-centred, supportive and focused on individual needs. I first identify the learner’s strengths, challenges and areas that require additional attention, and then adapt my lessons accordingly.

What makes me unique as a teacher is my 18 years of classroom experience, my passion for helping learners develop confidence, and my ability to create a safe and encouraging learning environment. I aim not only to improve marks, but also to help learners understand their work, develop good study habits and become more confident and independent.

Languages

I am proficient in Afrikaans and English and can provide lessons in both languages. I am especially passionate about Afrikaans and have experience teaching it across different grades.

What to Expect from a Typical Lesson

Each lesson is structured according to the learner's needs and may include:

* Reviewing schoolwork and identifying problem areas
* Explaining concepts in a simple, understandable way
* Additional practice and activities
* Homework and test/exam preparation
* Revision of previous work
* Building confidence in difficult subjects
* Individual attention and feedback
* Study skills and strategies to improve learning

I use practical examples, questions, activities and repetition where necessary to ensure that the learner understands the work rather than simply memorising it.

Who Are My Lessons For?

My tutoring is aimed at learners from Grade 1 to Grade 9, depending on the subject and learner's individual needs.

I offer support in subjects including:

Grade 1–7:
English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Technology, Social Sciences, Life Skills and other primary-school subjects.

Grade 8–9
Afrikaans, English, Natural Sciences, Technology, EMS, Social Sciences and other suitable school subjects.

Lessons are suitable for learners who need extra academic support, help with specific problem areas, revision, homework assistance, test and examination preparation, or simply additional individual attention

My goal is simple: to help every learner understand, improve and believe in themselves.
