About Jack
Greetings! Here is a bit of background about me: I have over ten years of experience performing as a professional musician and have been teaching private music lessons for over eight years. I attended the Berklee College of Music as a voice principle and Contemporary Writing and Production major, beginning in 2013. Since then, I have released a few albums of original/collaborative music, and have performed in cities such as Boston, New York City, and Los Angeles. I am currently finishing my Bachelor's of Science in Music Education from the University of Vermont, and continue to perform locally with friends. I grew up in Vermont, and love living here in Burlington. I feel lucky to call this beautiful state home!

My teaching method is highly personalized, but always focuses on building a strong musical foundation in rhythm, melody and harmony, as well as becoming aware of the many dynamic and expressive qualities available to us. Critically: practicing should always be fun! What is the point of a practice session grinding through scales and arpeggios without making sense of it in a musical context?
We will start working together to identify your goals and then create a strategic plan to reach them.
Since there is beauty in the imperfection, I like to say: practice might not make perfect, but it can make permanent.

Details
My rates are set for serious students. The travel fee varies based on the distance and time to your home.
First lessons are free of charge. Afterwards, I charge up-front for each month.
I use a 24-hour cancellation policy: students may have a make-up or reschedule, provided that 24 hours’ notice is given, and is ultimately up to my availability.
*Illness is the only exception: if the student wakes up sick or becomes ill during the day, a make-up is permitted.
Make-up lessons are not guaranteed, and given only during an allotted weekly make-up slot.
