About Iona
Hello, I’m Iona, a Biology and Marine Biology graduate from the University of Southampton. I specialise in helping GCSE Maths and Science students build confidence and improve their exam results.
I have experience working with both GCSE and A-Level students, and have supported students with a range of goals—from passing key exams to applying to top universities such as Oxford.
My lessons are tailored to each student’s needs, whether that’s strengthening core understanding or focusing on exam technique. I use structured lessons, past paper practice, and targeted feedback to help students make clear progress.
I understand that success looks different for every student. Whether your goal is achieving a top grade or simply passing with confidence, I aim to create a supportive environment where students can improve at their own pace.

I take a student-focused approach, tailoring each lesson to the individual’s needs. I identify both strengths and areas for improvement, helping students build confidence while making clear academic progress.
Lessons typically begin by discussing the student’s goals, followed by working through past paper questions to assess current ability and highlight weaker topics. Future sessions are then structured around these areas, with a focus on improving understanding and exam technique.
I have experience working with the AQA specification, and use past papers and mark schemes to help students maximise marks in their exams.
I offer one-hour lessons and structured support to help students prepare effectively.
I have experience tutoring GCSE Maths through MyTutor, and A-Level Biology and Chemistry with the Linacre Institute.
I teach GCSE Maths, Biology, and Chemistry, as well as A-Level Biology and Chemistry. I hold a degree in Biology and Marine Biology from the University of Southampton, and A-levels in Maths, Chemistry, and Biology.
