About Kenton
Teaching Method & Techniques I believe biology should be understood, not memorized. My method focuses on breaking complex ideas into clear, step-by-step explanations, using real-world examples from nature, health, and the environment to make concepts stick. I encourage active learning through questions, diagrams, and practice problems so students don’t just learn the material — they connect with it. A Typical Lesson Plan Warm-Up: Quick review of the last session or a short quiz to check understanding. Core Lesson: I introduce the topic using clear explanations, visuals, and analogies. Practice & Application: Students work through examples, diagrams, or problems with my guidance. Review & Recap: Key takeaways are summarized, and we set a mini-goal for the next lesson. Homework/Extra Practice: Tailored practice tasks to reinforce the lesson. What Sets Me Apart Studied Biology and Environmental Biology at Snow College, giving me a strong academic foundation. Patient, approachable teaching style — I never rush, and I adjust to each student’s pace. Strong focus on building confidence, not just grades. Ability to simplify even the most intimidating chapters (cell biology, genetics, ecology, physiology) into easy-to-grasp ideas. Who My Lessons Are For High school students needing support in general biology or preparing for exams. College students looking to strengthen their foundation or tackle challenging courses. Learners of all backgrounds who want to improve their understanding of biology for school, careers, or personal interest.
