About Bisma
I’m a recent graduate with a First in Biomedical Science. I’ve always enjoyed science, having studied it at A-level, and over time I found I really enjoy helping others make sense of topics that can seem complicated at first.
During my degree, I realised I naturally like breaking things down into simpler steps and explaining ideas in a way that actually clicks. That’s what led me towards tutoring.
I want to teach because I know how much of a difference the right explanation can make when a topic just isn’t landing. I’m patient, easy to talk to, and I try to keep things straightforward so students can build real confidence in what they’re learning, not just get through it.
I’ve also helped other students who were struggling with confidence or feeling anxious about their subject. A lot of the time, the issue isn’t ability but feeling overwhelmed or unsure where to start. I focus on taking things step by step and creating a relaxed environment where students don’t feel judged for getting things wrong. Over time, I’ve seen students become more confident in attempting questions on their own and less anxious about making mistakes.

My approach to tutoring is focused on clarity, patience, and building confidence. I aim to break down complex topics into simple, manageable steps and make sure students fully understand the basics before moving on. I often use active recall, guided questions, and exam-style practice to help students apply what they’ve learnt, rather than just memorising information.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, but I’m happy to adjust depending on the student’s needs and goals. I like to structure sessions so there is a balance between teaching content, working through examples, and practising exam questions, with time for questions throughout.
