About Bernat

Hi there!

My name is Bernat Juncà. I hold a degree in Biotechnology from the University of Girona, and I’ve been tutoring secondary school students for five years. I’m writing because I’d like to make online teaching my main job.

Over the years I’ve taught Catalan, Spanish, English and maths, and more recently I’ve focused on science: biology, chemistry, physics and maths. I currently teach online every week, and I’ve found that the virtual format calls for structure, pace and very clear communication.

What I enjoy most is the moment a student goes from “I don’t get it” to “now I see it”. I’ve worked with students who had been stuck on science for over a year and ended up passing exams that scared them, gaining confidence along the way. One family asked me to keep working with their son precisely because of how much he had improved.

When my usual method doesn’t work, I don’t push it: I change my approach or prepare custom materials. I finished my degree with a 9.71 on my final project, and science has taught me to ask why things work the way they do, so I’d rather a student understands the reasoning than memorises the answer.

My English is at C1 level, I communicate clearly in Catalan and Spanish, and my availability is [add your hours]. I’d love to join your team and grow with you.

Thank you for your time.

I start by listening: before explaining anything, I want to know where the student gets stuck and why. From there, I work on the reasoning behind each concept, because understanding the why is worth more than memorising formulas.

Lessons are online, personalised and paced to each student. If a method doesn’t work, I change it, and if needed I prepare custom exercises and materials. The goal is for the student to pass, but also to feel capable of doing it alone.
