About Colin
Hello! I'm Colin, a British computer science teacher with a genuine love for helping young people understand how technology works.
My path to teaching is a little unusual, and I think it makes me a better tutor. I spent 15 years working in IT in the UK before retraining as a teacher in 2018. That means when I teach you about networks, databases, or how software really works, I am drawing on real experience, not just a textbook.
Since then I have taught in international schools across Asia, and I now focus on helping IGCSE and A-Level students turn computer science from a scary subject into one they actually enjoy. I know what examiners are looking for, and I know how to get nervous students there with confidence.
My students tell me I am patient, encouraging, and good at explaining complicated ideas in simple terms. When I'm not teaching, you'll find me tinkering with technology at home, and I bring that same curiosity and enthusiasm into every lesson.

My lessons are built around one goal: turning exam panic into exam confidence.
A typical session combines three things. First, a short review of past paper questions to find exactly where marks are being lost. Second, focused teaching on that topic, explained in plain English with real examples, whether that is Python code running live on screen, logic gates, or database design. Third, immediate practice, because students learn computer science by doing it, not by watching it.
For exam students, everything connects back to the Cambridge mark scheme. I teach you how examiners think, what trigger words to look for, and how to structure answers that pick up every available mark. For students learning to code, we build real projects together, so you finish each lesson with working code you wrote yourself and actually understand.
All lessons are online, fully interactive, and supported with slides, worksheets, and past paper practice you keep afterwards. Your free first lesson is a relaxed session where we identify your goals, assess your current level, and build a plan for the coming weeks.
