About Smit
I'm currently completing my BSc in Chemistry, with a strong foundation in math, general chemistry, organic chemistry, and thermodynamics. These are subjects I've worked through myself at the university level, so I understand exactly where students tend to get stuck and how to explain things in a way that actually makes sense.
My goal as a tutor is simple: help you build real understanding, not just memorize formulas. I take the time to explain the "why" behind each concept, then guide you through practice problems so you can apply what you've learned with confidence, not just recognize it on a test.
I bring patience, reliability, and a genuine interest in helping students succeed, whether you're catching up on a tough topic, preparing for exams, or just want extra support throughout the semester. Hey! I'm a chemistry student working on my BSc, and I teach math, chemistry, organic chemistry, and thermodynamics.
My approach is simple: instead of just showing you steps to memorize, I explain why something works. We usually start each lesson by going over what's confusing you most, then work through practice problems together, step by step, until it clicks. Toward the end, I'll give you a few problems to try on your own so we can see what's sticking and what needs more time.
What sets me apart is that I actually enjoy the subjects most students dread in organic chem mechanisms and thermodynamics, so I can break them down in a way that feels less overwhelming.
My lessons are for high school students building a foundation, and university students tackling first- and second-year chemistry or math courses. Whether you're catching up, prepping for a midterm, or just want to stop feeling lost in class, I'll work at your pace and adjust based on what you need.
