About Leana

I have 15 years experience as a Trainer in the Financial Services Industry and have been an online tutor: Business English for a year. I lean on my experience in the Business Environment to assist you in improving your English skills: Reading, Writing, Listening and speaking

About the lesson

Before we commence on any lessons, I give my students a brief explanation on the Syllabus and how the different lessons have been structured. I find out from them how they would like feedback and incorporate that with the feedback method I already have in place.
I never fall into the trap of the lessons being more like a conversation and not enough like a lesson. Most of my students chose individual lessons, as they wants to spend more time listening to / talking to a teacher with better pronunciation than what they are used to. I like humor, which I will incorporate in all the lessons. I always make sure my students do most of the talking.
I use the following to meet the lesson outcomes:
Direct instruction:
- Question and Answers
- Explanations
- Drill work
Guided Discovery: (I am the 2nd person)
- Pair work
- Role play
My assessment strategies consist of the following:
- Worksheets
- Tests
- Gap filled activities
- Journal
- Other activities like writing paragraphs
