I know Theo‘s work as a journalist, which is dynamic, thoroughly researched, and deeply original. I’ve since come to know him also as a friend, who is notably kind and generous. He has a detailed knowledge of a wide range of subjects, through his experience as a screenwriter, his expertise as a historian, and the work he has done for the think tank the Henry Jackson Society. The consequence is he is knowledgeable about a wide range of subjects, from mid 20th century American politics to contemporary British prison reform. We collaborated on an article together—not an easy thing to do. The process was fun and relaxed and the result was one of the most successful articles I’ve ever written or co-written.

I can highly recommend Theo as an outstanding tutor, having taught alongside him as undergraduate supervisor at the University of Cambridge.
