About Jiayi
Hi, I’m Kaia (Wang Jiayi), an ANU Master of Applied Linguistics student from Mainland China. I’ve tutored teens and adults in Mandarin and academic English. I teach because I love helping learners build confidence and real-life fluency. My lessons are friendly, structured and goal-oriented: clear explanations, plenty of speaking, targeted feedback, and spaced-repetition review. Hi! I’m an ANU Master of Applied Linguistics student and a bilingual tutor from Mainland China. I teach Mandarin from beginner to advanced (kids and adults). In our first lesson I run a short diagnostic and set clear goals. Lessons are structured yet friendly: tones & Pinyin, high-frequency vocabulary, sentence patterns, characters, and lots of speaking through mini-tasks and role-plays. I use tailored materials, spaced-repetition review (e.g., Quizlet/Anki), and weekly feedback/homework. I also prepare HSK 1–6 and practical Chinese for study, travel or business.
