About William
I am a Ph.D. chemist and postdoctoral researcher at Boston University with experience teaching college-level chemistry and mentoring students in the laboratory. I tutor general, organic, and analytical chemistry, as well as advanced topics such as biochemistry, spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry. My approach emphasizes understanding the underlying concepts rather than memorizing formulas. I adapt each lesson to the student’s background, course requirements, and goals, whether they need help mastering fundamentals, solving difficult problems, preparing for an exam, or strengthening their scientific reasoning.

Each lesson will be tailored to your course, current understanding, and specific goals.
We will identify the underlying concepts, work through representative problems together, and then apply the same reasoning to new questions independently.
I will not simply provide answers; I will teach you how to recognize patterns, select the correct approach, and explain your reasoning.
My goal is to help you succeed in your current course while developing problem-solving skills that carry into future chemistry and science courses.
