About Alan
I am a rising junior chemistry major at SUNY University at Buffalo. I have a strong passion for the subject and eventually wish to have a research professorship at an R1 University. I have worked as a peer level tutor for a year, primarily in organic chemistry. My students have gone on to do wonderfully on exams, and have stated that my emphasis on understanding rather than memorization has helped them reason their way through difficult problems.

I aim to develop an intuitive understanding of various chemistry concepts and prevent reliance on rote memorization. Students will be able to apply their knowledge to a wide variety of chemistry questions. A typical lesson plan would involve a student coming in with questions and example problems already formulated, or a textbook to use as reference. These lessons are for those who wish to get ahead in their chemistry education, primarily in organic chemistry.
