I have graduated from the George Washington University with a Major in Sociology and a Minor in Journalism and Mass Communications. I am a first year graduate student at Columbia University, pursuing my Master's in Journalism. With a love for reading, writing and storytelling, I am passionate about using what I have learned to help students grow, harness their essay writing skills, and enjoy the process!

As a tutor, I want to help my students develop their own confidence throughout the essay writing process. First, we will unpack the essay question together, working through their ideas to see which one provides the most thorough response to the prompt. Next, we will create an outline, as brief or detailed as the students would like, to ensure there is a coherent structure and plan for the essay. After the student has created a draft, we will read through it together, and I will provide constructive feedback. While essay writing can seem intimidating, my goal is to inspire students to feel empowered by creating a final product that they are proud of. Especially if we were working on a college essay, which I have ample experience with crafting!
