Hi! I’m Shane, a Computer Science student at Maynooth University with a passion for helping others understand programming and tech in a simple, practical way. I know how confusing coding can feel at first, so my goal as a tutor is to make those “lightbulb moments” happen — when everything suddenly makes sense. I focus on building confidence and problem-solving skills, not just memorizing code. Whether you’re learning to code for the first time or trying to improve your college grades, I’m here to help you enjoy the process and actually get it.

I teach computer science in a clear, structured way that focuses on understanding the “why” behind the code — not just memorizing syntax. My lessons are ideal for secondary school and university students who want to build confidence in programming, problem-solving, or theory. A typical lesson lasts 1 hour and combines short explanations, live coding, and guided exercises. I adapt my approach depending on each student’s goals, whether that’s passing exams, improving assignments, or learning to code from scratch. I’m a third-year Computer Science student at Maynooth University with experience tutoring topics like Java, Python, algorithms, and databases.
