About Zane
My name is Zane, and I am a Computer Science graduate with a strong interest in helping beginners feel confident when learning programming and software development. I know that starting out can be confusing or intimidating, especially if you have never written code before, and I aim to make learning clear, calm, and approachable.
I focus on explaining ideas in simple language and breaking problems into small, manageable steps. I encourage questions and make sure students understand why something works before moving on, rather than rushing through content. My goal is to help students build confidence and problem-solving skills, not just copy answers.
Through my university studies and practical projects, I have gained experience teaching myself and others how to work through new concepts logically and patiently. This allows me to guide students who may feel stuck, unsure, or behind, and help them progress at a pace that suits them.
I am reliable, patient, and committed to creating a supportive learning environment where students of all ages can feel comfortable learning from the ground up, whether they are studying at school, university, or learning programming for the first time.

Sessions typically run for 60 minutes, with flexibility depending on your learning goals. Lessons can include guided coding exercises, walkthroughs of university coursework, debugging help, and preparation for assignments or exams. I emphasize problem-solving, clean code, and industry-relevant practices, especially for backend development.
I am Zane, a Computer Science (Software Engineering) graduate from the University of Wollongong, with experience in Python, Java, C++, and backend systems. I have led and engineered real-world software projects involving APIs, databases, Docker, and system design, and I tailor lessons based on how students learn best.
My lessons are suited for beginner to intermediate students, including high school students, first-year and second-year university students, or anyone new to programming who wants a structured, supportive learning environment. Lessons are available in Wollongong or online.
