About Rebecca

Hi, I’m Rebecca! I’m passionate about helping students build strong academic skills and gain confidence in their writing and analysis. With experience supporting high school students and undergraduates, I specialize in academic essay writing, dissertation work, text analysis, and commentary. I bring a patient, student-centered approach, breaking down complex ideas into clear, manageable steps while encouraging critical thinking and active engagement. I’ve worked closely with international students, helping them navigate new academic systems and develop strategies to succeed. My goal is to make learning approachable, empowering, and tailored to each student’s needs. Whether you’re struggling with structuring an essay, developing arguments, or analyzing texts, I’m here to guide you every step of the way with professionalism, clarity, and support.

About the lesson

As a tutor, I focus on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel confident exploring ideas and improving their skills. My teaching methodology is student-centered and adaptable: I break down complex concepts in academic writing, text analysis, and dissertation work into clear, manageable steps, and I encourage active participation, discussion, and critical thinking. I also provide practical strategies for structuring essays, developing arguments, and analyzing texts effectively.

A typical lesson with me begins with a brief review of previous work and any questions the student has. We then focus on a specific skill or assignment, such as crafting thesis statements, organizing arguments, or analyzing texts. I provide examples, guide exercises, and offer constructive feedback throughout. Each lesson concludes with a summary of key takeaways and actionable steps to practice before the next session.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my experience supporting international students and my emphasis on building confidence alongside academic skills. I understand the challenges of writing and analyzing texts in a second language or new academic system, and I aim to make lessons approachable and empowering.

My lessons are ideal for high school students and undergraduates who are working on essays, dissertations, commentaries, or text analysis. I help students develop strong writing, critical thinking, and analytical skills to succeed in their coursework and build confidence in academic expression.
