I'm a math tutor dedicated to inspiring students to gain the mathematical knowledge I've acquired, so they can achieve their optimal potential. Students should show me the math topics, and I can look them over and share my knowledge with them. I can teach students tricks and shortcuts so they can learn difficult math subjects with ease. With what I learned in high school and college, I can help them understand math concepts and pass their courses with ease.
The teaching methodology is based on patience, clear explanations, and participation. I believe that every student learns differently, so I adjust my teaching style to match each student's needs and pace. My goal is not only to help students solve problems but also to help them understand the concepts behind the mathematics so they can apply what they learn independently.
The lesson begins by identifying the topics or assignments the student needs help with. I ask these students to explain what they already understand and which step they are having the most difficulty with. This would help me focus on the areas that need the most attention.
Next, I'll describe the concepts by laying out a procedure step-by-step and working on a few examples. I demonstrate different methods for solving problems, including helpful tricks. After describing the concepts, we work through several practice problems together, and I encourage my students to ask questions throughout the lesson.
As my students each get into their comfort zone, they solve problems on their own while I provide them with useful feedback right after. If my students ever make mistakes, we review them together to understand why they happened and how to avoid them in the future. At the end of each lesson, I'd summarize the key concepts, answer any remaining questions my students have, and recommend additional practice if needed.
My students should arrive in class prepared with their class notes, textbook, homework, or any other topic they would like to review. Regular practice between sessions is important because it reinforces what was learned during the lesson. I'd have my students ask questions whenever they are unsure, as building confidence is just as important as finding the correct answer.
My main objective is to establish a supportive environment where students can feel comfortable making mistakes, asking me questions, and developing the skills they need to succeed in their math courses.
