About Minha

Hi! My name is Minha and I am a current Duke Undergraduate majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I have received tutoring many times and always found the one-on-one teaching style to help me the most. I always listened in school lectures, but a lot of the time (especially in math) the information would go right over my head. However, going through practice problems and tests was what brought me to my successes. I am a strong believer in practice makes perfect and that would not have been possible without my tutors.
As a younger student, I could not see this importance, I would just do the extra worksheets my tutors gave me and always thought it was so unfair that I would have to do extra work that my friends did not have to do. But now, I realize that math is muscle memory. There needs to be extra practice in order to really engrave skills into the brain. Especially with a subject like math where the topics constantly build off of each other, having a strong foundation is key. As a tutor, I would love to show students the importance of going that extra step.

If there are any materials that I can be sent my way ahead of the sessions to tailor the student's needs, feel free to send them over. Being informed of general topics prior to the sessions would also be great. I would love to be able to be as helpful as possible. If there are any further questions or concerns please contact me!
