About Cecilia
I am a 24-year-old teacher with a passion for early literacy skills! I have taught many students how to read using Orton-Gillingham techniques that help students understand the "why" behind spelling rules. Building an age-appropriate yet deep understanding of why words are spelled the way they are promotes long-term reading mastery more effectively than memorization.

I am a Kindergarten Teacher with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Early Childhood Education who loves to teach early reading skills! I use Orton-Gillingham techniques to grow your child's skills in phonics and phonemic awareness (a building block for reading). I have worked with children who are just learning English and children who are already reading at a 2nd grade level at age 5. Whether your child is on grade level and needs to be challenged or needs help catching up, I can create a personalized plan to get them what they need! I provide all the supplies needed!
To start, I would run through a quick assessment with your child to see where they are and assess where they need to go. Then I would create a personalized plan to help meet those goals!
