About Alan
I can fully sympathize with what it is like to struggle with confidence in math having scored a 37% in my year 7 math exam. I felt hopeless in what I could achieve academically.
I then conscientiously shifted my study to suit my own needs. Taking every step to make sure I understood everything from the ground up no matter how basic the concept was. This first principles approach to studying math and science had helped me eventually achieve a 99.00 ATAR.
I really hope to use what I had learned in my own personal and 4 years of tutoring experiences to help students who struggle with their confidence like myself in the past.

I like to work from a first principles approach to lessons - developing strong simple fundamental skills and knowledge to apply to complex practice questions.
Lessons will typically last around 1.5 hours and revolve around exploring practical ways to apply basic concepts.
The first lessons will be used to establish a strong background in basic concepts related to the students' syllabus. Later lessons will move onto more complex questions to be solved by deconstructing them into simple components and utilizing basic fundamental skills to solve them.
