About Nicholas
I’ve always enjoyed helping others understand things that once felt confusing. I started tutoring back in high school—sometimes formally through school programs, sometimes informally with friends and classmates—and quickly realized that teaching forced me to understand the material more deeply myself. That habit carried through college, where I studied Math and Computer Science at UC San Diego and continued helping peers break down tough concepts step by step.
What makes me a good fit as a tutor is my ability to adjust how I teach. Some students want quick strategies to do well on an upcoming test, while others want to build a strong foundation so future classes feel easier. I’ve worked with both, and I tailor each lesson to match the student’s goals, pace, and learning style. I’m patient, clear, and I focus on making sure concepts truly make sense—because confidence comes from understanding.
I’m fluent in English and Mandarin, which helps me support a wider range of students and families. My goal is not just better grades, but helping students feel capable and independent in their learning.
