About Mari
I am a current university student at BYU, and I am considering majoring in math education. I have taken Honors math classes throughout high school, including Calculus. I also have experience working with children who have learning disabilities, and I have experience as a math tutor as well. Oh! And I LOVE synthetic division, and you'll frequently find me pulling all my little work colleagues out on break to teach them how to factor.

I'm really flexible with how you learn, and I am happy to meet you wherever you are at. Math was never something that made a lot of sense to me growing up, and it wasn't until high school that I really found I enjoyed it. I understand where a lot of confusion can come from, I've been there, so I know how to help you understand where you're getting lost and how to find your way back.
I know math is not everyone's cup of tea, and I'll be honest that you probably won't actually ever need to use specific concepts after that high school test. But math can help you learn how to think and apply logical reasoning, and that is beneficial for any situation. And once you master that, you can definitely ace that math test, so you can get the grades you want and do the other things you're passionate about.
I have knowledge in practically every math topic from kindergarten to precalc (and some calc if so required, but that was never my favorite class anyway) and I've got lots of experience teaching people of all ages and math of all types. I hope to be able to instill an appreciation of math in all students, but that's a tall order, and if that's not your thing, I'll always settle for an A on your test instead!
