About Aqeel
Meet Your Tutor Hello, my name is Aqeel Arief. I am currently a Junior at Obra D. Tompkins High School, expected to graduate in 2027, and an A Mathematics student. I believe every student can succeed in math with the right support and guidance. My approach combines patience, encouragement, and clear explanations to help students feel confident and capable. When we work together, I focus on breaking down problems into manageable steps, celebrating small successes along the way, and showing how math connects to real-life situations. This not only strengthens skills but also builds a positive mindset about learning. I have experience working with students of different ages and skill levels, from those who need extra help with the basics to those who want to push ahead with more advanced material. Teaching Method and Techniques
I focus on building understanding through clear explanations, step-by-step problem solving, and active engagement. I encourage students to explain their thinking, because teaching back what they’ve learned shows true comprehension. I also use positive reinforcement and small wins to boost confidence, especially when students feel discouraged.
A Typical Lesson Plan
A lesson often begins with a quick review of previously learned material to check retention. Then, I introduce a new concept using simple examples before moving to more challenging problems. During practice, I guide students with questions rather than giving answers directly, helping them develop problem-solving strategies. Finally, I end with a short reflection or summary so students can articulate what they’ve learned.

Who Are My Lessons For
Since my strong points in Mathematics are Algebra 1 and 2, I feel the most comfortable teaching students on those too topic,this would range from middle schoolers to high schoolers. However, I have no doubt in my mind I can teach other topics too, including Geometry and basic Math for students in elementary
