About Akshaya

I believe the best learning happens when students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and thinking critically rather than simply memorizing information. My teaching style is patient, engaging, and highly personalized to each student’s learning pace and goals. I break down complex topics into simple, manageable concepts while helping students build confidence and independent problem-solving skills. I focus on creating a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to participate, stay curious, and challenge themselves academically. Whether I’m teaching math, science, English, or test preparation, my goal is to make learning approachable, structured, and genuinely rewarding for every student.

I’m a rocket scientist and mentor with degrees in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science from University of California, Los Angeles and Aerospace Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. I currently work in the aerospace industry, where I help solve complex real-world problems and lead technical teams. As a tutor, I focus on making challenging subjects approachable, engaging, and confidence-building for students of all levels. I believe learning works best when students feel supported, encouraged, and genuinely understood. My goal is not just to improve grades, but to help students strengthen critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and long-term academic confidence.
