About Stela
I want to tutor for two main reasons. Reason number one is that I want to be of benefit to students who are struggling with the content of biology, as it can be overwhelming and sometimes teachers cannot explain certain topics in a digestible manner. I want to mostly share my knowledge and teach pupils habits and techniques that can be useful not just for biology, but for school life in general, as I hope what I share will boost academic confidence, as I believe that is one of the most important things to achieve at an early age. My second reason is that I want to push myself to be able to match my tutees’ ways of learning, to be able to adapt and improve my communication skills, confidence and have fun whilst doing it.

I have previously helped in Maths support for KS3 and KS4, which has allowed me to work on communicating challenging concepts to students in an easy to digest way, whilst taking in consideration their current level and aiming to, firstly, bring their confidence up by solidifying basics and practising all the needed skills to do so, and then by exposing them to more challenging and complex examples, in order to engage their problem solving skills.
Lessons will normally be between 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes when exam season begins.
Qualifications include 8 in GCSE biology and an A in AS biology, with a predicted A for my upcoming A-level.
Tutoring is open for students in KS3 (year7-11)
