About Sahitya

I am a Senior Data Engineer and Solutions Architect with over six years of experience building high-scale, cloud-native data ecosystems for global firms like Deloitte and Genpact. My expertise lies at the intersection of traditional Big Data engineering and the modern AI stack. Having recently earned my Master of Professional Studies in Data Science and Applications from the State University of New York at Buffalo, I understand the rigorous academic standards of top-tier universities and the high-pressure demands of the tech industry.

Throughout my career, I have specialized in the Databricks ecosystem, mastering the Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) and Delta Lake to turn massive, unstructured datasets into "Gold-standard" business intelligence. I have designed and deployed complex ETL pipelines on AWS, utilizing services like Glue, Lambda, and S3 to process hundreds of thousands of records with zero-failure reliability.

Why Learn With Me?
Professionalism and reliability are the cornerstones of my work. When you choose to work with me, you are gaining a mentor who:

Has "Seen the End State": I have managed data migrations and modernization initiatives for Fortune 500 companies. I teach you how to build systems that don't just work on a laptop, but scale for millions of users.

Is a Continuous Learner: My recent Master’s degree ensures that my teaching is aligned with the latest advancements in Generative AI, Vector Databases, and Agentic Workflows.

Focuses on the "Owner Mindset": I don't just teach code; I teach responsibility. My students learn how to handle pipeline failures, optimize cloud costs, and ensure data integrity—the skills that actually get you hired and promoted.

My Commitment to Your Success
I take your professional and academic growth seriously. My goal is to provide a structured, high-accountability environment where complex concepts like PySpark DAGs, Idempotent processing, and Cloud Infrastructure become second nature to you. Whether you are a graduate student struggling with an algorithmic logic assignment or a professional aiming for a Senior Data Engineer role, I am committed to helping you bridge the gap between "learning" and "mastering."

I look forward to building the future of data with you.

My Approach as a Tutor: Sahitya Gantala
1. Teaching Method & Techniques
My teaching philosophy is "Architecture-First." I believe that learning a programming language or a tool is secondary to understanding the data flow.

The "Why" Before the "How": Before we write a single line of PySpark or SQL, we discuss the business problem. Why are we using a Lakehouse? Why is this pipeline failing?

The "Whiteboard to Code" Loop: We start by sketching the logic of a system (the DAG) and then translate that logic into clean, idempotent Python code.

Live Debugging: I don't give you perfect code. We build, we break, and we look at the logs together—because a true engineer is defined by how they handle a 500 Internal Server Error.

2. A Typical Lesson Plan (60 Minutes)
I structure every session to ensure you leave with a "win."

0-10 Min: The Retrospective. Reviewing the previous session’s "homework" and addressing any blockers faced in a real-world context.

10-25 Min: The Concept Deep-Dive. Exploring a core principle (e.g., Medallion Architecture or Vector Embeddings for AI Agents) using visual analogies.

25-50 Min: Hands-on Lab. Building a specific component. For example: "Today, we are moving raw JSON from S3 into a partitioned Parquet table using AWS Glue."

50-60 Min: The "Owner’s" Wrap-up. We discuss cost-awareness, failure scenarios, and how you would explain this project in a Big Tech interview.

3. What Sets Me Apart
What makes my tutoring unique is my 6+ years of industry experience at firms like Deloitte and Genpact, combined with my Master of Professional Studies in Data Science.

Industry Insider: I know exactly what recruiters at Fortune 500 companies are looking for in a technical interview.

High-Scale Expertise: I’ve managed projects involving over 400,000 records. I teach you how to build for scale, not just for a laptop.

The "Entrepreneurial" Edge: I specialize in helping students transition into "Builder" roles where you own the end-to-end data strategy.

4. Who the Lessons Are For
My sessions are designed for those who want to transition from "knowing code" to "being an engineer."

Graduate Students: Especially those in MS Data Science or CS programs looking to master cloud-native infrastructure.

Early-Career Professionals: Software engineers or analysts wanting to pivot into Data Engineering or MLOps.

Aspiring "Builders": Anyone looking to understand how to feed data into AI Agents and LLM-based applications.
