Is your child's Afrikaans mark lower than their other subjects?
My name is Juffrou Yolande, and I am a dedicated and experienced Afrikaans tutor committed to helping students from Grade 4 to Grade 10 unlock their full potential in this language. Having successfully tutored Afrikaans since 2019, I have a proven track record of helping learners achieve their academic goals and develop a genuine understanding of the subject.

Want a personalized learning experience tailored to your child's needs?
My teaching methodology is highly personalized and student-centered. I believe that every learner is unique, and therefore, I take the time to understand each student's individual learning style, strengths, and areas where they need the most support. I create customized lesson plans tailored to their specific needs and the requirements of their grade level (Grades 4-10), ensuring that our sessions are engaging, effective, and directly relevant to their curriculum.

What kind of support can you expect from my Afrikaans tutoring?
As a tutor, I offer comprehensive support in all aspects of Afrikaans, including expanding vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, writing skills, and conversational practice. I am proficient in English and use it as the language of instruction to support understanding. Whether your child is just starting their Afrikaans journey in Grade 4 or needs assistance with more complex concepts in Grade 10, I am equipped to provide the guidance and support they need.

What will a typical Afrikaans lesson with me be like?
In a typical lesson with me, learners can expect a structured yet interactive environment. We will work through concepts step-by-step, with plenty of opportunities for questions and practice exercises. I strive to make our sessions engaging and enjoyable, using a variety of teaching techniques to cater to different learning preferences. My goal is not just to help learners improve their grades but also to build their confidence and achieve their learning goals.

Who are my Afrikaans lessons for?
Everyone is welcome. My lessons are aimed at First Additional Language (FAL) learners of all levels within Grade 4 to Grade 10, whether they are struggling to keep up, aiming for top marks, or simply want to deepen their understanding and fluency in Afrikaans. My strong academic background in Psychology (Honours) and Industrial Psychology (Master's degree, cum laude) has provided me with valuable insights into how individuals learn and how to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
