About Rodrigo Jr
Professional Profile
I am a Doctor of Education major in Educational Management, with two master’s degrees: a Master’s degree in Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) and a Master of Science in Education from UTEL University. I am also a Licensed Professional Teacher and TESDA-qualified trainer, with extensive experience teaching technical-vocational education, particularly Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW).
My teaching is built on a combination of academic expertise, practical skills, and genuine commitment to student success. I believe that every learner can develop confidence and competence when lessons are presented clearly, patiently, and at the right level.
Whether you are a beginner learning welding for the first time, a student seeking additional support in TLE, or a TESDA trainee preparing to strengthen your technical competencies, I provide structured, personalized, and practical instruction tailored to your needs.
You can expect a professional learning environment where questions are welcomed, mistakes become opportunities to learn, and every lesson is focused on measurable progress.
My goal is not simply to teach you a subject—it is to help you understand it, apply it, and become confident in what you can do.

My Teaching Approach
As a Doctor of Education major in Educational Management, with two master’s degrees—one specializing in Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) and another Master of Science in Education from UTEL University—I believe that effective teaching should go beyond simply giving information. My goal is to help learners understand, practice, apply, and eventually perform skills independently.
My teaching approach combines student-centered learning, demonstration, guided practice, problem-solving, inquiry-based learning, and competency-based training. For technical subjects such as Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), I use a combination of clear explanations, visual demonstrations, step-by-step procedures, safety instruction, practical examples, and hands-on activities. I adjust my teaching depending on the learner's age, prior knowledge, learning pace, and specific goals.
A Typical Lesson
A typical lesson follows a structured but flexible process:
1. Learning Goal and Assessment
We begin by identifying what the learner already knows and what they need to achieve. I may use short questions, a diagnostic activity, or a simple practical task.
2. Introduction and Motivation
I connect the lesson to real-life situations, workplace applications, or practical problems so learners understand why the topic matters.
3. Clear Explanation
I explain the concept using simple language, examples, illustrations, demonstrations, and appropriate technical terminology.
4. Teacher Demonstration
For SMAW and TLE lessons, I demonstrate the correct procedure step by step, including proper tool selection, machine setup, PPE, safety precautions, and proper work techniques.
5. Guided Practice
The learner performs the task with my guidance. I provide immediate feedback and correct mistakes before they become habits.
6. Independent Application
The learner performs an activity or solves a problem independently to demonstrate actual understanding and skill.
7. Feedback and Evaluation
We review the learner's performance, identify strengths and areas for improvement, and establish the next learning target.
8. Follow-Up Activity
I provide practice exercises, review questions, or recommended activities that help reinforce the lesson.
What Sets Me Apart
What makes my tutoring approach different is the combination of advanced educational training and practical technical teaching experience.
I hold a Doctor of Education degree major in Educational Management, a master's degree specializing in Technology and Livelihood Education, and a Master of Science in Education from UTEL University. I am also a Licensed Professional Teacher and TESDA-qualified technical trainer, with experience teaching TLE and SMAW.
Because of this combination, I do not focus only on memorizing concepts. I focus on helping learners understand why something works, how to do it correctly, how to solve problems, and how to apply the skill safely in actual situations.
I also believe that students learn differently. Some learners need visual demonstrations, others need repeated practice, while others learn best through discussion and problem-solving. I therefore adapt my instruction rather than expecting every learner to learn in exactly the same way.
Who My Lessons Are For
My lessons are suitable for:
Junior high school students studying TLE, SMAW, or other technical-vocational subjects
Senior high school TVL students who want additional support in technical subjects
Beginners who want to learn the fundamentals of SMAW welding
TESDA trainees who want additional preparation and practice
Learners preparing for SMAW NC I/NC II-related competencies
Students who need help understanding welding tools, equipment, PPE, machine setup, electrodes, welding positions, joints, welding defects, and safety procedures
TLE learners who need assistance with both theory and practical application
Students who want individualized instruction because they find classroom-based learning too fast or difficult
Whether you are a complete beginner or already have some experience, I can adjust the lesson according to your current level.
My ultimate goal is simple: I want my students not only to know the answer, but to understand the skill, perform it correctly, and become confident enough to use what they have learned independently.
