About Bowen
Hello, my name is Bowen and I’m a Natural Sciences student at Cambridge. For my A-Levels I did Edexcel Maths and Further Maths, OCR A Chemistry and OCR B Physics.
I have over 200 hours of tutoring experience in Maths, Physics and Chemistry, starting in sixth form. I also gave free mentoring to students at my school.
Many of my teachers were extremely good at explaining concepts in an intuitive and down-to-earth way, so I want to pass that on. A lot of my success came down to my teachers so I am enthusiastic to teach and explain anything understandably and pragmatically in the same way.
My approach is very flexible and I always tailor it appropriately to my students’ needs. I can help with anything in maths/physics/chemistry, by giving intuitive and clear explanations. If I feel my tutee is missing some fundamental understanding necessary to understand something more difficult, I will fill that in first. I’ll work through a few example questions with my mentees, then leave them to do several more on their own whilst guiding them if they need help.
I engage with my mentees well and this is one of the main reasons why they can come to understand things quickly and easily. Being a student I can have a good connection with my tutees as it is easy for me to understand their position and be on their wavelength. Moreover, I know what the important things to know for the exam are - key steps in solving different problems, key bits of reasoning or knowledge.

Bowen has always been really good at explaining concepts to people. He explained various topics to me well and made me understand them intuitively which really helped me for my exams. It has been the same for other students back at school when he has helped out at mentoring schemes and he has always pushed other pupil's understanding to the limit. I don't think I can suggest anyone better.
Bowen was extremely helpful in A Level Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. He was very kind and motivated, and explained everything clearly; I would definitely not have been as successful without his help. I would highly recommend Bowen as a tutor.
