About Sami

I am a wildlife biology PhD student based in Berlin studying reptile and amphibian responses to deforestation in Malaysia. Whilst my work is predominantly research and scientific writing based, I thoroughly enjoy teaching and have a range of experience.
From teaching English as a foreign language in Cambodia, to developing and teaching a masters course on life history evolution in Germany. I have also supervised students at undergraduate and masters level, most recently two students whom I co-authored two papers with (currently in review).

I'm a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher dedicated to real-world applicability of what's taught in the classroom.

About the lesson

The majority of my teaching experience is at the undergraduate and masters level. Typically, I used as many real world examples and problems as possible to help students better understand subjects and their applications. I am a very animated and enthusiastic teacher, and prioritize the students ability to apply critical thinking to subjects rather than simply memorizing information.

Review

All of our reviews are collected by us and are 100% reliable. They correspond to a real experience lived by the students of Sami.

Sami is my cousin technically, but my whole life he has been more like a big brother. I have learned more about science, the planet, and many other things just from conversations with him than I did doing any of my school work. I had the privilege to attend once of his science slam talks in Berlin a couple of years ago, and he manages to take things I normally wouldn't be able to understand and make it make sense!
