About Nicole
I gained a Master of Science degree in Economics in 2022, my Bachelor of Science degree is in Economics as well. I tutored statistics for 3 years during my time in undergrad and then was a teaching assistant for 2 years as a grad student, where I taught mathematical/economics concepts. I currently reside in the Bay Area with my dog and am looking to begin tutoring again!

I believe the best way for students to learn is through problem solving. Oftentimes in math what is unclear is how to start or what the next step is; I like to provide hints on how to go about that next step so that in the future this type of mathematical problem becomes easier to solve. I am not here to solve the equations but to help push students to find the answer themselves. I believe this to be more rewarding as well as more beneficial to the learning process. For a general lesson I think it would be best to work through what a student is currently struggling with, whether that be a problem from class or homework. After identifying what was challenging and working through the issue we can do a couple problems similar, eventually moving to the next problem. I feel confident in tutoring anyone learning mathematical concepts from: pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, statistics, calculus (1, 2, 3), differential equations, and linear algebra.
