About Troy
With 19+ years of tutoring experience, I have proudly taught trumpet to high school students, college students, and adults. During this time, I have successfully guided around 300 students toward academic improvement and personal growth. I believe every learner deserves patient guidance and a learning environment that encourages confidence.
My teaching philosophy focuses on making learning easy to understand and enjoyable. I explain concepts in simple English, provide practical examples, and encourage active participation in every lesson. I adapt my teaching methods to match each student's learning pace and goals.
Each class includes structured lesson plans, demonstrations, guided practice, progress reviews, and detailed feedback. I believe consistent practice and regular encouragement help students improve steadily while developing confidence in their abilities.
Helping around 300 students achieve success has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my teaching career. Many students have gained stronger skills, better understanding, and greater confidence through hard work and personalized instruction.
I create a welcoming classroom where students feel respected, motivated, and comfortable asking questions. My mission is to help every learner enjoy trumpet while developing lifelong learning skills and achieving their full potential.

My teaching methodology is built on the belief that every student can learn the trumpet with the right guidance, regular practice, and a positive attitude. I create personalized lessons that match each student's age, skill level, and musical goals. My classes are friendly, structured, and designed to make learning enjoyable while improving technical and performance skills.
Motivation is the driving force behind my teaching. I encourage students to believe in themselves, stay committed to practice, and celebrate every achievement. Positive encouragement helps students remain confident and excited about learning.
Communication is an important part of my lessons. I explain every concept in simple English, demonstrate each technique clearly, and encourage students to ask questions freely. My goal is to make every lesson easy to understand and enjoyable.
Integrity guides my teaching style. I provide honest feedback, treat every student with respect, and encourage discipline, responsibility, and consistent effort. I believe these qualities help students become successful musicians.
Creativity keeps lessons interesting. I include breathing exercises, tone-building practice, rhythm training, articulation drills, improvisation, and performance activities to help students develop complete musical skills.
Besides trumpet, I also teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm studies, music appreciation, ensemble playing, and beginner improvisation. My aim is to help students become confident performers and lifelong music learners.
