About Sovereign

I am a college student working towards getting an MBA in 5 years in finance. Math is like a second language to me; I understand every piece of it. I started my own tutoring business in my neighborhood when I was 13 and found success in doing so for a few years until I moved. I was a volunteer tutor for elementary grade students my sophomore and junior year of high school. My parents also began paying me to tutor my younger sister in all subjects for the past 3 years so I have mastered patience and explanation.

About the lesson

I begin asking my student exactly what it is they don't understand and start at the root of the issue. Depending on how the student learns best (visually, hands-on, verbally), I walk them through the problem so they can learn in doing it themselves. If needed, I show them how to do the problem first then provide a similar example for them. The best way to learn is through repetition, so I give them a few problems that are similar until they completely understand.
