About Samantha
I am an engineering professor and have been tutoring and teaching students for the past 15+ years. I have a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in chemical engineering. In my reviews from students, they often comment on how supportive and approachable I am and my straightforward approach to teaching. I base my teaching on what you know and what works for you. My ultimate goal is to help students learn how to learn in their own way. I have experience tutoring math, chemistry, and engineering-related subjects.
While Superprof gives the option of uploading a resume, I opted not to out of privacy concerns as I am easily identifiable with my position.

My teaching experience is mostly with middle school, high school, and university students. My approach as a tutor is to assess where a student is struggling, what techniques they are using to learn, and to build from that knowledge base to help the student engage in the material while also feeling confident in their learning style for the future.

Details
The rates listed are for high school and university students. For middle school students they are $40/hour. I only tutor in my home, but can offer transportation if necessary for an additional fee. I charge a $25 cancellation fee if a session is cancelled less than 24 hours in advance.
