About Jack
Hello! My name is Jack Granger, and I am a Mechanical Engineering student with a strong passion for math, physics, and helping others succeed academically. Throughout my education, I have completed advanced coursework in subjects including Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Differential Equations, Physics, and Engineering.
I understand that many students struggle not because they are incapable, but because the material is often presented in a way that doesn't match how they learn. My goal is to make challenging topics easier to understand by breaking them down into simple, logical steps and helping students build confidence in their problem-solving abilities. I am patient, reliable, and committed to creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. Whether you need help with homework, preparing for a test, improving your grades, or strengthening your understanding of a subject, I will work with you at your pace and tailor lessons to your individual needs.
I specialize in middle school and high school mathematics and physics, including Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Physics. My approach as a tutor is to make difficult concepts easy to understand by breaking them down into simple, step-by-step explanations. I focus on helping students understand why a problem is solved a certain way rather than just memorizing formulas. I encourage questions and create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them.
My teaching method combines concept review, worked examples, and guided practice. First, I identify areas where the student is struggling. Then, I explain the underlying concepts using simple language and real-world examples. After that, we work through problems together before the student attempts similar problems independently. A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material, followed by instruction on new topics, guided problem-solving, and independent practice. At the end of each session, I summarize key concepts and provide strategies for continued improvement. My lessons are designed for middle school and high school students taking courses such as Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, General Physics, Honors Physics, and AP Physics. I also help students prepare for quizzes, exams, homework assignments, and standardized tests.
