About Jewel
I have been a professor of English and Theatre for ten years at NHTI as well as a trained SAT Prep tutor. I am also a published author of 34 published stories and essays in literary magazines and a memoir on Amazon. Over the years I have taught many hundreds of college students how to write academic college papers, research papers and creative writing, both fiction and creative nonfiction. I have also assisted many high school students in writing their college essays and adding 100 points to their SAT scores. I have an MFA in Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts and an MA in Movement and Theatre from Wesleyan.

Through communication, I get the sense of the student's obstacles in learning and writing. I let him or her know the student is not alone in experiencing fears of writing and verbal expression. I use humor to communicate well with students. I am well trained and experienced in my work and I love to teach. I have a joy for my subject matter and translate that into my teaching style. Finally, organization of materials makes my teaching clear.
