About Makayla

I tutored one student for four months
I prefer one-on-one tutoring with students (it promotes self-confidence in their abilities)
Reading comprehension ability increases throughout tutoring sessions (ability to read for more extended periods at a higher reading level)
I have four years of experience in English studies though I specialize in children's and YA literature

About the lesson

I'm currently working on my Master's in English. I can tutor students from elementary to high school and lower level undergrads, but I prefer high schoolers. I utilize discussion quite heavily in my sessions. I think talking about and engaging with the material promotes learning.
