Mr. Wolstenholme taught me from year 7 until year 9, which feels like forever ago.

As a teacher, he is kind and fair. He is knowledgeable and has a way of teaching that helps all students understand.

If you do struggle, Mr. Wolstenholme is quick to notice and is so patient with you, finding ways that work for you to help you understand.

He was very good at making lessons fun, which makes you eager to go to the next lessons.

Overall, after 17 years, he is still one of the teachers that is remembered, making a lasting impression. He's a great teacher!

I had the privilege of being taught by “Mr Wolstenholme” or Phil which is his “real name” when I was 13. I’d just moved back to the UK from Spain and had been out of the English schooling system for 6 years. I was more nervous to join an English school than I was joining the Spanish one! Phil was the kindest teacher I’ve ever had, he really made me fall in love with History and the world wars in particular. I’m now nearly 32 (!) and still have a piece of work I created with Phil’s guidance and proudly refer to it and show people photos when the topic of teachers pops up. I was only taught by Phil for less than a year before I moved to a different county, but Phil’s referral for my new school secured me a place in an already oversubscribed high achieving school. You’ll always remember how someone made you feel, and Mr Wolstenholme made me feel inspired to learn.

They were one of the best, most influential teachers I have ever had, not only in the subject, but in life.
