About Jennifer
I went to ASU and received my Bachelor of Arts in English, and went on to teach both middle and high school over the course of fifteen years. I have worked with both high school and middle school students in a variety of areas. I can coach students in essay writing, revision, and grammar. I also can help students break down complex reading assignments and improve their overall study skills.

I use several methods with students. These include: direct instruction, modeling, guided practice, discussion and questioning. Each of these approaches will vary depending on the situation and need. Questioning involves asking probing questions about the material to lead a student to an answer or conclusion. Discussion is geared mainly toward group instruction and reflecting upon literature. Guided practice works well with basic skills like grammar and sentence construction. A variety of these approaches may be applied in one learning session, or possibly only one. It depends upon need and context.
